Time Warp

Walking along,
the present melts into
a patch of life
previously lived and stuck
between rewind and play...

grasping for the root,
I catch the thought by the tip of the tail;
losing my grip on it as
the last attempt is made to take it captive...

familiar winds and flashes of lightning
move in to manipulate the landscape of my soul.
In my hand is the sword I will use to fight back
the descending cloak and pray for the Spirit to rain once more.
"It is written" worked for Jesus...

A song arrives to empower my will;
lifting my spirit to the
remembrance of coming joy.

Hold on...Hold on..."this too shall pass"..
"...though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.."
"Rejoice in the Lord always..."
"Jesus wept."

Time passes...

I am still here.

...and I hear the echoes in my mind of those who have travelled the time warp before me.

I love this one. Boy, do I know about being stuck between rewind and play! I love this line the best:

"It is written," worked for Jesus.

hey lynne, I like this one :)
God has blessed you with a talent to use words in a beautiful way...and its comforting to know there's someone else out there having similar thoughts and feelings.
bless you...

Thanks for the responses, folks! I am just doing what comes naturally for me when I write. Praise be to God that He allows me to write. I feel so honored that anything I write can touch your hearts; knowing that I am only a vehicle for the Holy Spirit to reach where He needs to reach...

Have a cup o'joy,
a tub of hummus,
a little hog and a little quiche,
...and a blessed day.

Love ya,
Lynne
